What to Expect

The following are some of the procedures you should expect the next time you visit our facility. These procedures are in place to ensure the health and safety of every employee, client, attendee, and partner that enters the facility. Items will be updated as necessary to comply with the most recent changes in the City of Dallas, Dallas County, state, and federal regulations.

KBHCCD’s team is continually working to find and utilize the best resources to implement procedures that will give our visitors confidence. Through increased venue cleaning and sanitizing, guidance on social distancing, and training our employees as champions of the new policies and procedures, our procedures and Reopening Plan will help mitigate employee and guest exposure to COVID-19. Additionally, we are committed to updating you with any changes to the processes through our website and social media.

The information below relies on the most recent available technology and research of the proper methods to clean, sanitize, and disinfect. Our basis for the plan integrates recommendations and requirements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the City of Dallas, Dallas County, and state and federal mandates. We will continue to update this page as guidance evolves.

On September 9, 2020, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD) achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation. GBAC's STAR™ Facility Program, created by the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA), has specific criteria that consider cleaning, disinfecting, and infectious disease prevention plans when approving accreditations. The program requires that the KBHCCD implement a plan to control risks associated with infectious agents such as COVID-19, Influenza, MRSA, and TB.
